Or Nah?

It’s like we’re strangers,

but we’re not though.

Working out the knots of a millennial social affro.

I giggle when I feel the vibration.

I turn my phone over if your name isn’t tied to the notification.

Our conversations feel like a cheap vacation.

Like, but not in a bad way.

I guess I need to figure out what it is I’m trying to say.

You make me feel like the music of Sade.

So do you like me or nah,

Can I see you or nah,

You gone eat your cornbread,

or nah.

Two out of three is pretty good.

I don’t always open up the way I should.

But if you asked me to give you my cornbread,

I would.

I guess I’m not in any danger,

‘Cause I would never share my cornbread with a stranger.
